What would you like from your visit to the optician?
We are experienced experts in vision - we know our stuff, but have a very human and friendly approach
At Keyes Eyecare we offer our patients peace of mind through our attention to detail and relaxed, unrushed consultations.
We value people. We know that you feel valued when you are understood and when your eyecare and eyewear needs are met in a way that shows we understand your daily life. We strive to make the process of having an eye examination and choosing new glasses interesting, friendly and reassuring.
What we offer is much more than just an eye examination, glasses or contact lenses, it is also how you feel as you walk out of our door.
Why not come and see us to experience a valuable relationship with eye care professionals who care about you as an individual?
We use both traditional methods and modern eyecare technology. We provide expert advice and support to patients with a variety of vision needs. If you have any concerns about your vision, or would just like to see whether your eyes are working as well as they can, contact Keyes Eyecare.
It's really important that the health of your eyes is assessed regularly, to pick up any potential problems as early as possible.
When did you last have your eyes examined?
Adults should have an eye examination every two years, more regularly if there is a risk of eye disease developing. Examples would be in patients with a family history of glaucoma, or if you suffer from general health problems such as diabetes.
If you are over 70 an annual eye examination is recommended. Please contact us for more specific advice.
Early detection is crucial in treating eye disease. Regular eye examinations can detect general health problems, for example raised cholesterol or raised blood pressure. Sometimes an eye examination can actually save your life. See one example here.
When did your children last have their eyes examined?
All children should have their eyes examined annually, more frequently if they wear glasses or are having difficulties at school. A report from the College of Optometrists shows that 1 in 4 children have an undiagnosed eye condition, which if untreated could go on to affect their exam grades.
We have a special approach for examining pre-school children, to make it engaging and fun. We certainly won't expect younger children to read letters on a chart!
